Hannah Welsby – Director / Producer
‘Circus of Men’ is produced by Black Fire Agency, who have a successful history of touring shows globally, including shows at Cannes Film Festival, Formula One, Masters of Dirt and private parties all over the world. During their productions with the ‘Fuel Girls’, a raucous, sexy group of performers, they where asked by women ‘where’s the male version?’
Hannah, founder of Black Fire Agency, the Fuel Girls and co-founder of London nightclub Jet Black, realized how much erotic entertainment there is for men in London. As far as a fun, sexy night out, a girls night, or a ‘hen’ party, there was no real multi-layered, interactive show to reflect the taste of most modern city girls in the 21st Century.
Hannah “I thought about what women REALLY like, my friends, work colleagues, female clients… I wanted the show to engage the audience emotionally as well as erotically – to enjoy the skill, prowess and aesthetics of the human body. Strength and power, gentleness, emotion – love, passion, dirt, cheekiness and lots of laughs!
The show centers around office life. Who doesn’t love the look of a well suited man!
I brought in choreographer Michelle Queen, who shares the same sentiment regarding female sexuality and fantasy and how performance can bring that alive.
Michelle Queen – Creative Director
Michelle Queen has worked extensively in the dance industry as a professional dancer and choreographer. Credits include: Olympic Opening Ceremony (UK), Conor Maynard, Florence and The Machine, The Brit Awards, X Factor, EMA’S, Rihanna, Shakira, Nickelodeon Awards, The Royal Opera House and many more.
As an artist and creator she is very much inspired by fashion, creative direction, installation art and the moving picture, thinking outside the box and representing a fresh outlook on dance and choreography.
Recent work includes choreography for Boyzone, West End Show ‘Revolution’ starring Kimberly Wyatt and Adam Garcia, The British Olympic Ball with Tinchy Stryder, choreography for Ed Sheeren’s hit single ‘You need me, I don’t need you’ and more.
Michelle’s work with the Circus of Men takes you on an imaginative journey and adds a unique and modern slant to the show. She has a clear vision of what works and what doesn’t, from the music, style, energy and skill within a performance.
In 2015 Michelle will be traveling to South Africa to oversee the additional Circus of Men dates, adding South Africa to the UK and European tour dates.
